Eternal Past

casks of history’s clews slowly emerge
from beyond the barriers of our horizons
that wait to find solution or issue     like crystals
from Proust’s unknowns
beyond his life’s long-delicious tales
that bathe us in salves as we slide under
his trembling salsa of cairns along our shores
in salute to today’s eternal past
